The Arctic Challenge - through the Lomo

Last weekend me, my girlfriend and a mate from out of town went to The Arctic Challenge Quarterpipe finals in Midtstuen, Oslo. It was a crisp day with about -10 degrees and partially sunny, so we were freezing our asses off. But the riding was awsome, the quarterpipe was enormous and I even got a few decent Lomo-shots. I also have a few video clips from my phone, I'll be posting those at a later occasion.

Spectators gazing upon riders conquering the Beast. The quarter was 10m tall and Andy Finch had the highest air of the day, 6m over the pipe-edge.

A few BIG airs were busted.

Finally got around to frame a quickpaint I did about a year ago. Its a mixed media painting done in aproximately 10 minutes with acrylics and spraypaint. Although I'm usually way to hung up on details and spending time on a piece, sometimes quick can be good too.

Going snowboarding tomorrow, hope to score a few Lomo-pix as well...

I went to John Dee in Oslo yesterday to see a band I stumbled over by accident at last years Oya-festival. This band is Datarock, and they play an eclectic mix of rock and electronic music with some insanely funny lyrics and super-catchy melodies. Check out their grooves in the music section on their website.

And YES, they HAVE matching tracksuits...

Went out and bought a drawingpad of natural paper and a white pencil the other day, and this is the first test. Love that you so easily define highlights with the white.!

The drawing is done in aprox. 1 hour. Drawn after a reference photo found at Fred Kyrels photography site, which by the way contains a LOT of excellent work. As you see it also contains some nudity, you are hereby warned!

With 4(!!!) times the speed, Intel processor (which is actually two processors on one chip), brighter display, new power adapter... what the hell, read about it yourselves here!

Its been a long time since I did any drawing, but here quick sketch to get me on the right track again. Just have to remember to keep it QUICK and not get tempted to overdo them. Then I should be able to do at least 5 a week. Hopefully.

Oh yeah, it is!
Developed another roll of film snapped with the Lomo LC-A, but sadly there weren't many highlights this time. Much thanks to the absence of daylights here in Norway nowadays (I hope!). I have ben seriously thinking about getting one of these puppies. The first photo is of Molde Fotball Klubb celebrating their victory in the cup-final of 2005. Snapped from the top row at Ullev�l Stadion. The second photo is of my girlfriend and a friend visiting, having a lazy morning breakfast the day before the Fugees-concert.

While you're over at lomography.com, you should check out the new feature Broaden your horizon, featuring artists Hazel Dooney and Kozyndan taking 120 degrees photos with the smooth looking Horizon-cameras. I REALLY want one, oh yes.

O-la-lala, Fugees live in Oslo spektrum

Recently went to a Fugees-concert in Oslo. We arrived when the first opening act began and were standing at the same spot for around two hours before the Fugees came onstage, so by then we were pretty worn out. I would say the show was really good all in all, but it could have been better, counting for both sound technician and artists. But when they (the Fugees) were on target, they were brilliant. So I giveth thy: A crappy mobile-photo from the concert!

Of non-musical things of public interest happening, were the not so successful stagediving-stunts of second opening-act Mira Craig and Fugees' Pras.

Mira jumped into the sparsely populated audience in front of the 2.5m high stage and hit the floor (according to Norwegian newspapers, she fractured her knee). And apparently Pras lost his BlackBerry under his attempt during Ghetto Superstar.

UFO-sightings at Nordmarka, Oslo

Instead of the usual sunday-routine, I spent yesterday afternoon in Nordmarka walking around in fog and snow. I've never been up there before, and suddenly I walked into the very ghostly view of Tryvannst�rnet at the "top of Oslo". So here is the result of some nighttime Sony Ericsson K750i action on a lazy sunday.
